CLIENT PROFILE

Southeastern Idaho Community Action Agency (SEICAA) is a non-profit organization providing opportunity and support for individuals to thrive and reach their fullest potential. SEICAA promotes self-sufficiency and greater economic independence through services, education, affordable housing and training.

THE SITUATION

SEICAA was using an aging content management system (CMS) to manage its website. Its hosting company announced it would no longer accommodate the site. However, by the time the issue came to SEICAA’s attention, the organization had approximately two weeks to make a change.

THE STRATEGY

The Wipfli web marketing team jumped into action. Within 10 days, team members created an interim site to move and re-map all of SEICAA’s content, maintaining the organization’s online presence and valuable backlinks. A full site, with more robust features, went live about 45 days later.

Despite the time constraint, careful thought went into the interim site template. The goal was to not only preserve existing content but also create a design that would set SEICAA up for a cohesive transition from the interim site to the final version.

Built on a WordPress platform, the new site adheres to the latest in web security standards and mobile accessibility. WordPress offers a user-friendly backend, so SEICAA staff could readily take over day-to-day management once the transition was complete.

WHAT WERE THE RESULTS?

SEICAA was able to keep its site up and running despite the extremely tight timeframe. Its new site represents a notable update (click here to view before and after pictures), with prominent call-to-action features, an integrated news feed, a Facebook feed and an events calendar.

A clear messaging structure helps potential clients request help while converting other visitors into donors and volunteers. News features keep the site fresh and communicate what’s happening in the organization.
